IPA’s Guest Speaker is Gary Weitzel and David Goodwin from ALA on the topic of Hybrid Virtualization: A Model for Small to Mid-Sized Law Firms.
Gary Weitzel
Weitzel also served as the Director of Knowledge and Information Services at the Denver firm Moye Giles LLP and was the ALA Mile High Chapter's Newsletter Editor-in-Chief in 2004 and 2005, and assisted the chapter's development of its award winning online newsletter.
Weitzel served as the Administrator of Association of Legal Administrators’ (ALA) Management Solutions where he was the chief architect of the current legal management help-desk and was the first Editor-in-Chief of the
Weitzel holds a Master of Science in Legal Administration degree from the University Of Denver College Of Law where he was named a David S. Vogels Jr. Scholar in Law Office Administration. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
David E. Goodwin is the President of Mid America Computer Corp.
In 1978, he founded American Data Equipment, specializing in nation-wide brokerage an sales of DEC computer equipment and compatible components. American Data began custom integration of DEC computers and compatibles into general business systems for small to medium enterprises. Choosing to become a more regional, complete solution provider, Mr. Goodwin incorporated the current, Mid America Computer Corp. in 1984, to sell DEC computers and compatibles, integrate them into systems for general business users, and provide contract maintenance services.
As the PC and PC-based networks began to blossom, Mid America evolved first into Novell network integration and support services, followed closely by the Microsoft based networks they specialize in today as a Microsoft Certified Partner. As President of Mid America, Mr. Goodwin continues to perform technology consulting and design services for small and medium sized professional firms throughout Central Indiana, and now provides a package of managed services to clients to help them proactively monitor, manage and optimize their IT investments.
