Job Seekers

IPA members receive exclusive access to full job postings, including detailed descriptions and direct employer contact information, through the Members Section of our website.

We are also excited to introduce our new Resume Bank, which allows members to upload and maintain their resumes at any time. Members may choose to post their resume anonymously, allowing them to explore new opportunities while keeping their identity private from current employers or other viewers until they are ready to connect. This feature gives employers the ability to proactively connect with qualified candidates, increasing member visibility and opportunities within the legal community.

To view current job postings, please log in and navigate to:
IPA Job Bank. Please note you will be required to log in to see active posts.

Set yourself apart from the competition. Before you apply, explore the Member Career Resources page for expert tips on creating a standout résumé, preparing for interviews, building your professional network, and advancing your legal career.

Do I need to be an IPA member to view job postings?

Yes. Access to the IPA Job Board is an exclusive benefit of Indiana Paralegal Association membership. Members can log in at any time to browse current job openings and apply directly through the employer's application process.

Why is the Job Board only available to members?

The IPA Job Board is designed to connect employers with paralegals and legal professionals who are committed to their careers and engaged in the profession. By limiting access to members, we provide employers with a targeted audience while offering members a valuable career benefit.

How often are new jobs posted?

New opportunities are added throughout the month as employers submit openings. Because positions may be filled quickly, we encourage members to log in regularly to view the latest postings.

What types of positions are posted?

The Job Board features a variety of legal career opportunities, including positions for experienced paralegals, entry-level paralegals, legal assistants, litigation support professionals, and other legal support roles. Positions may be full-time, part-time, hybrid, remote, or in-office, depending on the employer's needs.

How do I apply for a position?

Each job posting includes application instructions provided by the employer. Some employers may ask you to apply through their website, while others may request that you submit your résumé and cover letter directly.

Please follow the application instructions included in each posting.

Can IPA tell me the status of my application?

No. IPA provides the Job Board as a service to members and employers but is not involved in the hiring process.

If you have questions about a position or the status of your application, please contact the employer directly.

Can IPA help me prepare for my job search?

Yes! IPA is committed to supporting your professional growth. Members have access to educational programs, networking opportunities, career development resources, and articles on topics such as résumé writing, interviewing, and professional skills.

I'm a new graduate or have limited experience. Should I still apply?

Absolutely. Many employers are looking for candidates with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as a willingness to learn. If you meet many of the qualifications and believe you would be a good fit, we encourage you to apply.

Why don't I see dozens of job postings?

The IPA Job Board is a specialized career resource focused on legal professionals in Indiana. Unlike large commercial job sites, our Job Board features positions submitted by employers specifically seeking qualified legal professionals. While there may be fewer postings, each one is targeted to the legal community.

How can I improve my chances of finding the right opportunity?

Make the most of your IPA membership by:

  • Logging in regularly to view new job postings.
  • Keeping your membership profile and contact information up to date.
  • Attending IPA networking events and CLE programs.
  • Taking advantage of career development resources.
  • Building relationships with fellow legal professionals throughout Indiana.

Many career opportunities begin through professional connections.

Why should I remain an IPA member?

Your membership provides much more than access to the Job Board. It connects you with a statewide network of legal professionals, continuing legal education, leadership opportunities, mentoring, and career resources that support your professional growth throughout your career.

What makes the IPA Job Board different from large job sites?

The IPA Job Board reaches a focused audience of:

  • Experienced paralegals
  • New paralegals entering the profession
  • Legal support professionals
  • Students preparing to enter the legal field
  • Members committed to continuing legal education and professional development

Instead of your posting competing with thousands of unrelated positions, it is presented to professionals specifically interested in legal careers.

How long should I leave my job posted?

We recommend leaving your position posted for the full posting period whenever possible. Some highly qualified candidates are not actively searching every day and may discover your posting later.

Why should I advertise with IPA?

By posting with IPA, you are supporting Indiana's legal community while connecting with professionals who value education, ethics, and career development.

Your posting helps support programming, continuing education, scholarships, and resources that strengthen the paralegal profession throughout Indiana.

How many applicants can IPA guarantee?

We cannot guarantee a specific number of applicants. Hiring activity varies throughout the year and depends on many factors, including:

  • Salary and benefits
  • Location
  • Remote or hybrid work options
  • Experience requirements
  • Practice area
  • Overall job market conditions

Our goal is to maximize your exposure to qualified legal professionals, not simply generate large numbers of applications.

Should I also post on other job boards?

Many employers find success using multiple recruiting channels.

The IPA Job Board works especially well as part of a broader recruiting strategy because it reaches professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to the legal profession through their association membership and involvement.

Why isn't my job receiving many applicants?

The IPA Job Board is designed to connect employers with qualified paralegals and legal support professionals who are actively engaged in their profession. Because our audience is targeted rather than the general public, you may receive fewer applications than you would on a large commercial job site. However, those applicants are often more qualified and more invested in the legal profession.

Quality of applicants is often more valuable than quantity.
