The Indiana Paralegal Association established a scholarship to celebrate the life of one of IPA’s own, Cathy Canny, who passed away in early 2022.

Cathy was an extremely valuable member of the Association and the paralegal profession for over 40 years.  She served in various leadership roles in the Indiana Paralegal Association (IPA), the IndyBar Paralegal Executive Committee and the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) Affiliate Membership Committee.  She was recognized by her peers through her receipt of the IPA Lifetime Achievement Award (2020), IPA Outstanding Board Member (2006), the IndyBar Paralegal of the Year Award (2003 & 2005), ISBA Affiliate Member Award (2011), Leadership in Law Legal Support Star Award (2021) among others.  Through this fund we hope to assist others in achieving their paralegal education goals, inspiring them to follow in her footsteps and further the paralegal profession.
