Unicorns and the UCC

What do unicorns have to do with the UCC?  Well, actually nothing.  But hopefully we got your attention.  In 2010 we saw our first significant modifications of RA 9 since 2001.  These changes give parties more direction and guidance in the area of private secured transactions.  This one hour CLE presentation shall look at these amendments.  In particular, we will be looking at the definition of public records, adjustments to continued security interests under 9-316, individual debtor name options, proper filing for federal organizations, and corrections statements.  We will also have a discussion on some recent court cases which highlight some of these issues.  Come join us to discuss UCC, corporate law updates and perhaps unicorns.  Our speaker is Dan Lias from CT Corp.

Get the Most from Your Office*

Come learn how to “Get The Most From Your Office.”  We will cover Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are the most commonly used tools across law firms, but even with such high popularity many people do not have time to explore all of the available capabilities. As a result, many users get frustrated feeling like there must be an easier way to accomplish certain tasks but they don’t know where to look for answers. During this session you will be introduced to a wide variety of legal-specific capabilities and everyday tips and tricks that will help you overcome these frustrations! Our speaker is Deanna Finney of Modern Information Systems.

Note this session will also be presented at 10:30 a.m.

Terry of Lewis & Kappes.
