Paralegal - Small north side Indianapolis law firm seeks an experienced part-time legal assistant/paralegal to work three hours (9 a.m. to noon) per weekday in our office and one to two hours per day from home (20-25 hours per week total). Legal Assistant - Summary:  The Legal Assistant contributes to fulfilling the state agency’s mission and meeting strategic and annual agency operational and program goals by assisting the General Counsel with legal and factual research, state and federal compliance, contracts management and preparation, records retention, management and organization, oral and written communication, docketing, scheduling, and other litigation support, as well as supporting the Executive Director with administrative assistance.  Responsibilities include drafting a variety of documents, such as contracts, correspondence, and reports; transmitting legal correspondence to clients, customers, outside counsel and court officials; investigating, researching, and collecting legal and factual records; organizing and maintaining a variety of files for the General Counsel; preparing Minutes and distributing Board Packets; and taking notes at meetings.  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
